Ex Drummer

Cert: TBC
Runtime: 1 hour 44 mins

Who said Belgium was boring? This will blow your mind... Based on the cult novel by Herman Brusselmans, Ex Drummer is the story of famous author Dries, who is approached to play drums for an oddball punkband called The Feminists. Their gimmick? Each has a physical handicap. Ivan is a violent junkie; Koen lives much of his life suspended from the roof of his house and Jan keeps his deranged father tied to a bed. Dries has a handicap too, he can't play drums but this appeals to the band's punk sensibility. The arrogant yuppie is drawn to their squalid life; there could be a story in it, but once in, can he get out again? Trainspotting meets Man Bites Dog and beats up Spinal Tap along the way… in short, the year's most distinctive and shocking feature debut.
